The Company A leading national, multi-sector industry superannuation fund managing billions in assets for members across key economic sectors including resources, energy, and manufacturing. Driven by a member-first ethos, robust compliance, and an ambitious national expansion strategy, the organization is investing heavily in scaling its commercial footprint across Western Australia.
The Role This is a newly created, Perth-based Business Development Manager role focused on identifying and cultivating new corporate default opportunities across Western Australia. You will build and execute sector-specific growth plans, targeting medium-to-large employers, supply chains, connected entities, and advisory networks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying, qualifying, and maintaining a high-performing pipeline of corporate acquisition opportunities.
- Driving inorganic member and FUM growth through employer default selections, RFPs, and corporate tenders.
- Pitching and building long-term relationships with C-suite executives, HR decision-makers, dealergroups, advisers, rating agencies, and tender consultants.
- Driving strategic regional engagements with peak bodies, industry associations, and local groups such as the Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA (CCI WA).
- Utilizing CRM systems for opportunity management, sector reporting, and detailed market intelligence forecasting.
Your Experience
- 5+ years of experience in corporate business development, distribution, or B2B growth within financial services, superannuation, financial planning/advice, or fintech.
- RG146 compliance qualification is required (AdvDip FS or tertiary qualifications are desirable).
- Proven track record in C-suite relationship management, strategic prospecting, and delivering tailored capability presentations.
- Strong comprehension of the superannuation landscape, employer default reviews, and corporate tenders.
- High energy, resilience, and a go-getter mentality with exceptional presentation and negotiation skills.
- Deep understanding of the WA corporate market and a clear distinction between pure business development (acquisition) and relationship management (retention).
