About the Role
Working directly alongside the Head of Credit, you will play a key role in evaluating loan applications and managing portfolio risk.
You do not need prior experience as a signed-off Credit Assessor. We are looking for an ambitious professional with foundational experience in the mortgage space—whether from mortgage processing, settlements, broker support, or lending customer service—who is ready to step up into credit decisioning.
Key Responsibilities:
Credit Assessment: Review and evaluate loan applications against responsible lending policies and guidelines.
Policy & Reporting: Partner with the Head of Credit to refine internal policies and build out portfolio risk reporting as the business scales.
Team Collaboration: Act as a point of contact for middle-office teams to resolve document verification issues and loan eligibility queries.
Compliance & Growth: Assist with enterprise risk management and process improvement initiatives.
What We Are Looking For:
Mortgage Industry Knowledge: Essential experience within the home lending or mortgage space, with a solid understanding of standard documentation.
Analytical Mindset: High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a desire to learn credit assessment.
Communication & Empathy: Ability to articulate lending decisions clearly and maintain an empathetic approach given the demographic of the customer base.
Proactive Attitude: A driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking for long-term career progression.
