This position is ideal for a proactive payroll professional who enjoys possesses strong numerical reasoning, and enjoys building genuine relationships with managers to streamline processes.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the fortnightly pay runs across ANZ entities, including monthly commission calculations and incentive payouts.
Review and validate timesheets and timekeeping inputs, liaising directly with store managers to resolve variations.
Ensure strict adherence to the General Retail Award, local employment contracts, STP, multi-state payroll tax, superannuation, and Workers' Compensation.
Administer New Zealand payroll compliance, including PAYE, KiwiSaver, ACC levies, and loan deductions.
Prepare monthly General Ledger reconciliations, cost-centre allocations, headcount reports, and international financial summaries for overseas regional management.
Process new starters, probation changes, salary updates, and complex termination or leave liability calculations.
Provide light, ad-hoc HR administration support and employee masterfile updates in tandem with the HR team.
What we are looking for
At least 1 year practical experience in managing full-function end-to-end payroll cycles.
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills to confidently work with managers on payroll queries.
Good understanding of Australian payroll legislation, tax regulations, and Modern Awards
Exposure to NZ payroll frameworks is desired.
Comfortable working with manual spreadsheets (intermediate Excel) and navigating complex HRIS or timekeeping software.
Strong organisational logic to manage manual inputs and refine processing steps cleanly.
