About the Opportunity
Are you an experienced HR Generalist looking for a short-term contract where you can add real value from day one?
We are seeking a proactive, hands-on HR Specialist / Support Officer for a 4–6 week temporary placement starting in late October / early November. Working on-site in Horsham, you will join our dynamic People, Culture & Safety team and provide hands-on operational and administrative support to our Acting Manager during a temporary backfill period.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will work under general direction across a broad range of human resources, organizational development, and workplace relations activities:
Policy & Documentation: Assist with the review and development of policies, procedures, and standard HR documentation.
HR Communications: Prepare professional correspondence, reports, briefing notes, and employment-related communications.
Recruitment Support: Facilitate recruitment and selection processes, including interview panels and candidate administration.
Employee Relations: Provide baseline support for employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary matters.
Projects & Compliance: Conduct research for HR/OD projects, maintain accurate employee records, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
Generalist Advice: Provide practical support and guidance to line managers and employees on routine people management matters.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
Proven experience in a HR Generalist, HR Advisor, or HR Officer role.
Strong knowledge of Australian employment standards, workplace relations, and HR best practices.
Excellent written communication skills, with experience drafting formal reports, briefing notes, and letters.
High emotional intelligence, discretion, and sound judgment when dealing with confidential matters.
A supportive, collaborative approach and a willingness to mentor or assist team members stepping into acting leadership roles.
