Randstad Defence is looking for a Purchasing Specialist to support the Procurement & Supply Chain function of a global defence company. As a Purchasing officer, you will support the supply chain operations by delivering accurate and timely materials planning across the Procurement & Supply Chain function. Working closely with the procurement and supply chain team, you will contribute to demand and supply planning, inventory accuracy, and supplier coordination to ensure the availability of goods and services that meet operational needs.
This is a long term contract role based in Western Australia with a potential to convert into a permanent position.
About the Role
- Develop and maintain material plans aligned with demand forecasts and inventory targets.
- Maintain accurate ERP data to ensure inventory precision and compliance.
- Support integrated business planning, including demand, supply, and inventory optimisation.
- Manage supplier communications to ensure supply continuity, lead times, and scheduling.
- Lead or support planning projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure all activities comply with procurement policies, industry standards, and contracts.
- Raise purchase requisitions and evaluate quotes to drive value-for-money outcomes.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related experience.
- Experience in supply chain planning, materials management, or related procurement experience.
- Exposure to ERP systems for inventory, materials, and planning functions.
- Understanding of demand planning, supply planning, and inventory optimisation principles.
- Familiarity with data governance, reporting tools, and maintaining planning accuracy across systems.
- Proven ability to solve planning challenges.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with key stakeholders on supplier and contract negotiations.
The candidate must be an Australian citizen and have a Baseline security clearance.
