The Role:

1. Production Engineering & Process Optimization
Workflow Optimization: Manage daily production schedules for precast elements (hollow-core slabs, wall panels, structural beams, and architectural cladding).
Process Improvement: Implement Lean manufacturing methods (5S, Kaizen, TPM) to reduce cycle times, minimize concrete waste, and improve batching accuracy.
Equipment & Mold Management: Monitor performance of automated casting beds, stressing beds, overhead cranes, batching plants, and curing chambers.
Troubleshooting: Resolve technical issues during batching, pouring, vibration, prestressing/tensioning, and demolding.
2. Safety Investigations & Risk Management
Incident & Near-Miss Investigations: Lead detailed root-cause analysis (RCA) using standard methodologies (5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, Bowtie analysis) for all plant incidents, equipment failures, or hazardous conditions.
Hazard Identification & Mitigation: Conduct regular safety audits focusing on high-risk precast hazards (e.g., overhead crane lifts, prestressing cable tensioning, silica dust exposure, heavy formwork handling).
Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA): Develop, execute, and verify action plans to prevent repeat safety or environmental incidents.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local occupational safety regulations (e.g., OSHA / local OHS standards), keeping detailed documentation for reporting and auditing.
3. Quality Control & Technical Assurance
Concrete & Mix Oversight: Collaborate with QA/QC teams to audit concrete mix designs, curing temperatures, and early compressive strength tests before detensioning.
Pre-Stress Safety Audits: Enforce strict safety protocols during high-tonnage wire and strand tensioning procedures.
To apply you will need:
Previous experience in a similar role as well as the below,
- White Card (essential)
- Valid driver's licence and personal vehicle (essential)
- Full working rights - Citizen or Permanent resident
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
- 3–5+ years in a precast concrete, heavy manufacturing, or civil infrastructure environment.
- NEBOSH, OSHA 30-Hour, or equivalent Incident Investigation / RCA Certification (preferred).
- Willing to undertake a pre-employment medical check which includes drug and alcohol screening
