The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced HSEQ Manager to join their team on a full-time basis in Welshpool, Western Australia. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role is critical to leading and managing their Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) programs. You will be responsible for embedding a strong, proactive safety leadership culture across the organisation, effectively managing risk, and supporting the health, safety, and wellbeing of all employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the company's HSEQ strategy to achieve business objectives, comply with legislative requirements, and maintain certification to relevant ISO standards.
- Manage the Quality Management System (QMS) to maintain ISO 9001 certification.
- Review, maintain, and continuously improve the HSEQ Management System (BMS) documentation to ensure it is an effective and easy-to-use tool for all staff.
- Lead internal and external audit programs across safety, quality, and environmental systems, and liaise with third-party auditors to close out non-conformances.
- Develop, review, and implement comprehensive risk assessment processes, and maintain site risk registers.
- Lead incident investigations alongside managers to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and share lessons learned.
- Manage employee rehabilitation and return-to-work programs in collaboration with Human Resources, management, and external parties.
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver safety and compliance training programs, including inductions, manual handling, hazard awareness, and emergency response.
- Represent the business in the planning and preparation of HSEQ aspects for tenders, client audits, and external engagements.
- Ensure all operations are carried out in a manner that reduces Lost Time Injuries (LTIs), Medical Treatment Injuries (MTIs), and environmental incidents.
About You
- You hold a Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- You possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior HSEQ role.
- You have demonstrated experience leading HSEQ functions within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- You bring a strong understanding and knowledge of relevant WHS and environmental Legislation and Acts.
- You have proven experience developing risk assessment frameworks, managing injury and return-to-work programs, and designing safety training.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office and HSEQ Management Systems.
- You are a strong communicator with excellent influencing skills, capable of working collaboratively and building trust across all levels of an organisation.
- You are professional, ethical, detail-oriented, and highly focused on continuous improvement.
