About your new role
The EL1 Assistant Director in Strategic Policy leads a team of staff and contractors to design, analyse, and implement strategic policy reforms, corporate documents, and government briefings. Core responsibilities include managing high-level stakeholder relationships, applying sound judgement to navigate complex risks, and gathering data to drive evidence-based policy solutions
What you will need to exceed
...- Extensive experience in designing, analyzing, and implementing complex public policy, reform projects, or strategic commissioning ideally within the public sector.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage, influence, and negotiate practical solutions across diverse internal and external stakeholder groups.
- A strong understanding of relevant legislation, Commonwealth procurement rules
- A proven track record of writing and reviewing polished corporate documents, policy papers, presentations, and briefings specifically tailored for a government audience.
- Solid analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to interpret complex data to make evidence-based recommendations and manage operational risks in a changing environment.
