About the Role
Contract Length: 4–5 Months, hybrid working arrangement
We are seeking an experienced Policy Manager to lead a high-performing team responsible for delivering key strategic policy, workforce mobility, and governance functions. You will oversee whole-of-sector policy design, maintain governance standards, and drive key operational frameworks in a dynamic environment.
This is a key leadership position responsible for providing high-level, authoritative advice to executive stakeholders and guiding a team toward impactful outcomes.
Role Responsibilities
...- People Leadership: Lead, coach, and support a team to foster a high-performing culture, oversee performance monitoring, and manage workforce planning.
- Policy & Strategic Advice: Deliver high-quality, evidence-based policy advice on strategic initiatives, complex risk assessments, and policy design.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain critical relationships across diverse senior internal and external stakeholders to drive outcomes.
- Executive Communication: Prepare and quality-assure complex briefs, correspondence, submissions, and policy papers for senior decision-makers.
- Governance & Operations: Support organizational governance, uphold integrity standards, and manage operational registers and compliance functions.
Key Selection Criteria
- People Management: Proven ability to manage, hold accountable, and develop a productive, engaged team while navigating complex workforce needs.
- Policy Design & Critical Thinking: Demonstrated expertise in designing, implementing, and evaluating complex policies using evidence-based research and critical problem-solving.
- Impactful Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a track record of translating complex information into clear executive briefings and strategic messaging.
- Stakeholder Management: Advanced interpersonal, negotiation, and influence skills with a proven capacity to handle sensitive topics across all levels.
- Flexibility & Agility: Strong ability to adapt systems, manage changing priorities, and drive sustainable solutions across broader strategic frameworks.
