Communications Consultant
- Pay Rate: $60/hr + Super
- Location: Perth, WA (Perth CBD / East Perth)
- Contract Length: 6 Months (with the possibility of extension)
About the Role
Randstad is currently recruiting for an experienced Communications Consultant to join a major government body in Western Australia.
In this role, you will provide critical communications and stakeholder engagement support across a portfolio of active, high-profile infrastructure projects. Working alongside Senior Communications Specialists, you will help bridge the gap between complex project teams and the broader public, ensuring accurate, engaging, and timely information delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Creation & Drafting: Research, draft, and coordinate project updates, works notifications, FAQs, briefing materials, presentations, direct correspondence, and digital content.
- Strategy & Planning: Support the preparation, implementation, and tactical execution of overarching communications plans, engagement strategies, and stakeholder mapping.
- Enquiry & Issue Management: Act as a key point of contact for routine stakeholder enquiries and complaints, maintain accurate records, and coordinate communication approvals across internal teams and contractors.
- Risk & Issue Monitoring: Keep a pulse on community sentiment, identify emerging reputational risks, and proactively escalate higher-risk matters to leadership.
Key Selection Criteria
- Infrastructure & Stakeholder Experience: Demonstrated track record delivering project communications and community engagement within infrastructure, construction, government, or a similarly complex environment.
- Strong Written Communication: Proven ability to translate technical, complex information into clear, accessible, and audience-specific messaging across multiple digital and traditional channels.
- Liaison & Coordination Skills: Strong organizational skills with experience handling stakeholder enquiries/complaints, managing project approvals, and delivering concurrent priorities in fast-paced environments.
