About the Role
Our client is a QLD government organisation based in the Brisbane CBD. They are currently seeking an AO7 Principal Finance Officer with experience in Transformation & Process improvement to come in and work with them on a 6 month temp assignment with potential for extension.
Requirements for this role include:
- Strong experience in financial operations and implementing finance transformation initiatives.
- Experience in identifying process inefficiencies and delivering practical improvements.
- Ability to develop training materials, guidance documents and implementation plans.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analyse and redesign finance and procurement business processes to improve efficiency, compliance and service delivery.
- Develop implementation plans, monitor progress and coordinate delivery activities to ensure delivery.
- Engage with stakeholders to communicate process changes, provide guidance and support adoption.
The role will support the following initiatives:
- Implementation of QSS Finance service transition
- Implementation of the On-Time Payment Policy to improve supplier payment performance and ensure compliance with expectations.
- Increased utilisation of Corporate Cards and associated process improvements to streamline low-value purchasing, reduce administrative overheads, and improve payment efficiency.
- Implementation of the new Financial Delegations Framework, including business process changes, stakeholder education, governance controls, and compliance monitoring.
- Implementation of new processes to address Finance audit recommendations.
- Implementation of new Procurement Maturity Uplift initiatives to strengthen procurement governance, improve contract visibility, support compliance obligations, and enhance reporting capabilities.
