About the Role
Our client is a QLD government organisation based in the Brisbane CBD. They are currently seeking a Senior Finance Officer to come in and join their team on a 6 month temp contract with potential for extension.

Requirements for this role include:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or similar
- Demonstrated expertise in SAP (Fiori, Analysis for MS Office, BPC) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Power BI experience is highly regarded.
- Previous government experience (Desirable not essential)
Key responsibilities include:
- Financial Performance Monitoring: Track and monitor ongoing organisational financial performance through active cross-functional stakeholder engagement.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare, analyse, and submit accurate financial reports within strict deadlines, adhering to organisational policies and standards.
- Budget Strategy & Preparation: Direct and contribute to departmental budget formulation, including key statutory outputs such as the Service Delivery Statement.
- General Ledger Management: Oversee the accurate and timely upload of financial data to uphold total general ledger integrity.
- Policy Development & Improvement: Drive the ongoing enhancement, formulation, and implementation of departmental financial management policies and procedures.
- Expert Advisory Services: Provide authoritative guidance and interpretation on financial management issues, statutory standards, and relevant legislation to internal and external stakeholders.
- Audit & Stakeholder Liaison: Consult regularly with auditors, clients, and key stakeholders to align financial activities with organisational and regulatory expectations.
