This is a question we often receive from prospective clients.

When you're facing a decision on whether to use a dedicated HR company to look after your staffing needs, it's a valid question to ask.

We believe it's the human side of our business that makes the difference in today's fast-changing digital world. That's why we combine the power of today's latest technologies with our human insight to deliver the talent you need to move your business forward.

We call it 'human forward', and we incorporate it into every stage of the recruitment process.

Here are some of the key elements of our process that make it unique:

starting with understanding

A key aspect of our recruitment methodology that we believe sets us apart from our competitors is a strong emphasis on understanding. Before starting the process of sourcing, screening and selecting the right talent to meet your needs, we make sure we understand the finer details and wider context of those needs.

Our recruitment consultants achieve this by visiting your business and meeting you in person, if possible, to get clear answers to questions like:

  • What does your staffing process look like today and how can it be improved?
  • What are the wider business challenges and opportunities associated with your need for staff?
  • What's happening in your industry right now and how is this likely to affect your business?

Collecting these insights helps us set expectations and select people who are a good fit for your company culture and the colleagues they will be working with.

a novel approach to sourcing

This strong foundation of understanding is vital for us to take the next step in meeting your staffing needs: sourcing appropriate talent.

A key differentiator here is the size of the network we're able to draw from. This is the result of several decades spent working with local labour markets and building relationships in countries all over the world. If you have an urgent staffing requirement and need quick access to vetted, trustworthy talent, there are clear time and efficiency benefits to be gained from working with a dedicated HR partner rather than taking on the responsibility yourself.

As well as giving you access to a large pool of workers, we can help you ensure you're making contact with the right people. Our own websites and Monster, one of the largest job boards, provide a highly visible platform for you to advertise vacancies and get your job opportunities noticed by as many people as possible.

innovative selection and assessment

Technology continues to have a crucial role to play when the staffing process moves onto the selection and assessment phase.

We use a number of HR tech tools at the pre-selection stage, including chatbots, which are playing an increasingly important role in modern recruitment. Chatbots can be deployed early on in pre-selection to enable engagement with a large number of jobseekers and to answer routine questions. This can help with refining the pool to the most suitable applicants, as a quick chatbot query could tell them if they meet essential criteria and if the job feels right for them.

Another valuable tool that distinguishes the Randstad process from what you might be able to do yourself is Modern Hire, a highly flexible platform that allows you to incorporate video - either live or recorded - into various stages of the hiring cycle.

The video interviewing capability of this technology proved crucial in 2020, enabling recruiters and businesses to make face-to-face (albeit virtual) contact with interviewees even when they couldn't be in the same room together.

post-hire follow-up

We attach a lot of importance to delivering value to all parties involved in the recruitment process - not just our clients but job seekers as well.

This is exemplified by our policy of following up on how both the employer and the worker are getting on after their working relationship has started. We check-in at regular intervals to make sure that all parties are happy with how things are progressing, and to provide further support if required.

If you would like to learn more about our recruitment process, we have created a short guide that provides more detail on the various steps involved in our recruitment process. This demonstrates how our approach is completely unique and carefully tailored to individual employers and jobseekers.
