On behalf of our client, a well-established commercial trading firm in the industrial commodity sector, we are seeking a Trade & Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join their Brisbane CBD team on a part-time basis. Operating at the intersection of physical trading, market protection, and international trade regulation, our client manages complex cross-border flows, tariff settings, and commercial risk across Australia.
This is a flexible, part time role, ideal for a specialist looking to step into a key advisory position within a dynamic commercial environment.
Whether you are an early-career analyst/graduate with foundational exposure to trade or customs law looking to accelerate your career, or an senior trade risk specialist seeking a flexible part-time contract, our client is keen to consider a range of experience levels.
Reporting directly to Executive Leadership, you will support commercial strategy, tariff settings, trade compliance, and regulatory risk management.
Trade & Regulatory Governance: Monitor developments in Australian customs frameworks, trade remedy processes, tariff settings, and regulatory requirements.
Commercial Risk Analysis: Assist in evaluating market trends, import pricing dynamics, and competitive risks affecting core commodity lines.
Data & Compliance Reporting: Review import data, maintain internal compliance registers, and assist with regulatory reporting and documentation.
Stakeholder Liaison: Support engagement between executive management, external legal advisers, regulatory bodies, and industry groups.
Strategic Support: Help develop internal controls to manage regulatory exposure and support audit readiness.
Foundational Exposure: Practical experience or internship/graduate exposure in trade compliance, customs regulations, international trade law, or regulatory risk.
Flexible Entry Level: Open to candidates with 6–12 months of initial trade/customs experience through to senior trade compliance professionals.
Qualifications: Degree in Law, Economics, Commerce, International Trade, Supply Chain, or a related field.
Analytical Mindset: Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret commercial data, import flows, or regulatory guidelines.
Availability: Ability to work from our client's Brisbane CBD office 2 days per week (flexible on exact days).
