About the Role
This position combines technical authorship with end-to-end ownership of technical illustrations. Working closely with multidisciplinary product and systems engineering teams, you will ensure that all documentation and graphics meet exact industry standards.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Developing comprehensive paper-based and electronic publications for UAS systems, covering everything from flight manuals to testing and troubleshooting procedures.
Producing clear, accurate technical illustrations, including line drawings, schematics, exploded views, and workflows.
Structuring, developing, and maintaining publication data sets and Integrated Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs).
Ensuring all technical data and illustrations strictly comply with applicable standards, including S1000D specifications.
Updating publications based on source data changes, equipment modifications, and peer reviews.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a self-starter who can work accurately and unsupervised while managing multiple tasks.
You must also possess:
Demonstrated experience analyzing and interpreting aerospace systems to develop high-quality technical publications and illustrations.
Strong working knowledge of S1000D specifications and structured authoring environments (including XML or SGML).
Proficiency with specialized technical illustration and graphics tools, such as Adobe Illustrator, IsoDraw, Cleo, or 3D modeling software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external resources.
Mandatory: A current Australian Security Clearance to Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1).
