Senior to Executive Quantity Surveyor
The Company
I am partnering with a premier, global independent cost and project consultancy that has shaped the skylines of Australia and New Zealand for decades. From major health precincts and commercial towers to landmark infrastructure, they are the trusted advisors behind the region's most complex developments.
Unlike matrixed corporate firms, they operate under a genuine employee-owned model, prioritising technical excellence, long-term client partnerships, and direct commercial agility over red tape. This is a strategic opportunity to join their high-performing Adelaide leadership team, drive key client relationships, and help shape the office’s growth trajectory.
About The Role
Stepping into a senior, client-facing leadership role, you will act as a principal advisor across a prestigious portfolio spanning health, commercial, workspace, education, defense, and major civic projects.
Supported by an established national network, your focus will balance strategic cost management, team leadership, and key stakeholder engagement:
...Strategic Client Advisory: Acting as a trusted advisor to developers, institutional investors, government bodies, and project managers from early feasibility through to completion.
High-Level Cost Planning: Overseeing initial macro budgets, complex feasibility benchmarking, elemental cost plans, and pre-tender estimates for multi-million dollar developments.
Commercial Strategy & Risk: Driving strategic value engineering, risk management workshops, and challenging design/client assumptions to optimise commercial outcomes.
Project Oversight: Managing high-level tender analyses, post-contract cost management, variations, and executive bank/funder reporting.
Team Leadership & Mentoring: Guiding, reviewing, and mentoring mid-level and junior Quantity Surveyors to maintain technical excellence across project deliverables.
Business Growth: Supporting local leadership in client retention, proposal generation, and expanding the firm's Adelaide footprint.
What’s in it for you?
Pathway to Ownership: Work within an employee-owned firm with a clear, merit-based trajectory toward equity, Associate, and Director-level leadership.
Executive Remuneration: Highly competitive salary package, performance incentives, and flexible working arrangements (genuine WFH/hybrid balance).
Marquee Portfolio: Lead the cost strategy on Adelaide’s most significant, headline-grabbing developments.
Autonomy & Influence: High visibility within the business without corporate bureaucracy—your expertise directly shapes project and business outcomes.
Modern Work Environment: Based out of a state-of-the-art CBD office with a collaborative, high-performing culture.
About The Candidate
We are seeking a sharp, commercially astute, and client-ready senior professional who brings both technical authority and strategic vision.
To be successful, you will possess:
Experience: Minimum 7+ years of Quantity Surveying experience, with a proven track record within an Australian property or construction consultancy (PQS).
Education & Accreditation: A recognised degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management. Chartered status (MRICS, FAIQS, or Certified Quantity Surveyor) is highly desirable.
Technical Mastery: Exceptional capability in macro cost planning, value engineering, and commercial risk advisory. Advanced proficiency in CostX and complex Excel models.
Leadership & Influence: Outstanding stakeholder management skills with a history of advising C-suite executives, developers, and government clients.
