Positioned in the heart of Surfers Paradise, this $400M+ iconic tower is set to become one of the most prestigious architectural landmarks on the Australian coastline. As a highly successful, fully integrated developer-builder, we control the entire lifecycle of our projects. We are looking for a heavy-hitting Senior Project Engineer who wants to step away from the mundane and take ownership of a massive, complex high-rise build. The Role
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be a critical leader on site, driving the engineering team and managing substantial commercial and structural packages. This is a high-visibility role requiring deep technical expertise in large-scale vertical construction.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Major Structural Deliveries: Lead complex structural packages, including deep basement excavations, specialized piling/dewatering (essential for the GC terrain), high-cycle post-tensioned slabs, and jump-form systems.
Procurement & Package Management: Own the letting and management of major multi-million-dollar subcontracts, managing scopes from inception to final account.
Design & Services Integration: Coordinate heavily with in-house architectural and services teams to resolve complex constructability challenges before they impact the critical path.
Programming & Financial Control: Drive look-ahead schedules, manage variations and progress claims, and relentlessly mitigate risks to keep this mega-project on time and on budget.
Mentorship: Actively mentor and develop site and project engineers within a high-performing project team.
About You
You are a seasoned engineer who thrives under the pressure of a massive site. You know what it takes to move a tower into the sky safely, efficiently, and to a premium standard.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Construction Management.
Minimum 5+ years of experience with a reputable Tier 1 or top-tier Tier 2 builder in Australia.
Proven experience working on high-rise residential or mixed-use towers ($150M+ single-project value is essential).
Strong technical aptitude in deep basements, heavy structures, and high-end architectural finishes.
Commercial acumen—you know how to manage contracts fiercely but fairly.
A collaborative attitude that fits seamlessly into a developer-builder environment.
