We areworking with a mid-tier commercial head contractor with a reputation for delivering high-specification, landmark structures across Queensland. Backed by a strong pipeline of work heading into the future, we have just broken ground on a flagship $100M, high-rise commercial tower right in the heart of Fortitude Valley.

This architectural marvel features premium commercial office spaces, a vibrant ground-floor retail precinct, and cutting-edge sustainable design. We are seeking an ambitious, sharp, and driven Project Engineer to join our high-performing site delivery team and play a critical role in bringing this iconic skyline project to life.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will drive daily site engineering operations, managing packages from structures through to high-end finishes. Your day-to-day will involve:

• Package Management: Take full ownership of civil, structural, and fit-out sub-contractor packages, ensuring delivery aligns with project timelines and strict QA standards.

• Technical Support: Review construction drawings, resolve design clashes, manage RFIs, and issue clear technical directives to site teams.

• Cost & Variations: Assist the Contract Administrator with tracking variations, progress claims, and forecasting procurement schedules.

• Programming & Scheduling: Collaborating with the Site Manager to develop, track, and update look-ahead schedules, ensuring milestones are hit seamlessly.

• Safety & Quality Assurance: Drive a zero-harm culture on-site while ensuring all works strictly adhere to building codes, environmental guidelines, and architectural specifications.

What We Are Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will be a natural problem solver who thrives in fast-paced commercial construction environments.

• Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or an equivalent discipline.

• Experience: 3+ years of experience working as a Site or Project Engineer for a reputable commercial builder in Australia. Previous experience on projects valued at $40M+ (ideally multi-level commercial or residential towers) is highly desirable.

• Technical Savvy: Strong proficiency in construction management and programming software (e.g., Procore, Aconex, MS Project).

• Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the confidence to manage, negotiate, and build strong working relationships with subcontractors, consultants, and clients.

• Local Knowledge: A strong understanding of QLD building codes and the local Brisbane subcontractor market is highly advantageous.
