Position Title: Senior Business Analyst – Real-Time Systems
Location: Melbourne & Carlton Office Locations (3 days on-site & must be available for both office locations)

About the Opportunity
An opportunity to join a major transport and infrastructure initiative conducting critical real-time systems feature development. In this role, you will lead discovery, run collaborative workshops, and produce detailed technical specifications that enable engineering and testing teams to execute seamlessly. This role focuses on back-office operations, control room environments, and rolling stock real-time application transitions rather than consumer mobile or web applications.
**PLEASE NOTE - This role is 3-days on-site across both Melbourne CBD office & Carlton Office**
Key Criteria
... Domain Experience: Proven background working within operations control centers, control rooms, or operational technology (OT) environments, ideally related to rolling stock or rail systems.
Systems Knowledge: Strong understanding of real-time systems, back-office operations, and complex system transitions.
Core BA Skills: Demonstrated expertise in driving discovery phases, requirement gathering, and running technical workshops with multidisciplinary stakeholders.
Documentation & Delivery: Ability to translate complex operational concepts into clear, execution-ready documentation for engineers and testers.
Team Player: Proven track record supporting broader engineering, QA, and business analysis teams to balance workload and streamline project delivery.
Non-Target Background: This role is suited for operational/real-time systems specialists, not traditional commercial software or mobile app BAs.

Key Responsibilities
Lead discovery activities and conduct structured stakeholder workshops to extract, analyze, and map complex operational requirements.
Drive feature development for real-time application transitions within a back-office and control room context.
Author clear, high-quality technical documentation, user stories, and functional specs that engineering and testing teams can independently execute.
Collaborate closely with operations center and controller teams to ensure deep alignment with real-time operational workflows.
Provide targeted support to senior engineers, testers, and peer BAs to alleviate workload bottlenecks across current delivery phases.
