What You Will Do:

• Execute security operations monitoring and reporting to detect, analyse, and respond to security events.

• Support, execute, and monitor core security platforms, including the Microsoft Defender suite, SIEM solutions (Splunk, Sentinel), and cloud security monitoring technologies.

• Assess, investigate, and resolve security incidents following approved policies while maintaining and testing the Security Incident Response Plan, associated playbooks, and vulnerability assessments.

• Lead digital forensic investigations in partnership with external third parties, maintaining proper evidence preservation for potential legal proceedings.

• Engage and direct managed security service providers and internal technical teams during incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess:

• Specialist technical experience configuring and supporting security platforms such as the Microsoft Defender suite, SIEM tools (Splunk, Sentinel), and cloud security solutions.

• Detailed understanding of security incident response frameworks (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK) and contemporary standards such as ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, or NIST Cybersecurity Framework.

• Technical expertise with security technologies including EDR/XDR, vulnerability scanning (e.g., Qualys, Nessus), network security (SASE, Zero Trust, Firewalls), and PAM/IAM.

• High-level interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage autonomously or collaboratively across technical teams, end users, and business leaders.

• Tertiary qualification in IT, Information Security, Data Science, or equivalent experience, alongside relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Information Protection Administrator).
