I am looking for energetic and customer focused librarians for multiple contract opportunities working within a Research Library.
Working with a phenomenal collection, your previous research experience and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills will ensure the ultimate satisfaction of your customers’ needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing a welcoming, responsive and professional customer experience for visitors, researchers and library users.
- Responding to enquiries in person, by phone and online, and referring complex requests to specialist staff where required.
- Assisting customers to access library collections, information resources, technology and digital services.
- Supporting membership registration and account management.
- Resolving routine customer issues and escalating complex or sensitive matters in accordance with procedures.
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to reporting and service improvement activities.
- Promoting library programs, services and collections to customers.
- Ensuring service spaces are safe, welcoming, well-presented and accessible.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across teams to support service delivery, customer engagement and operational priorities.
- Assisting with opening, closing and cash-handling procedures where required.
Ideally you will Possess:
- Sound knowledge of processes of a large modern research library, including the principles and practices of library legislation
- Degree in Information Management or Archives Administration, or a Degree majoring in history, politics, anthropology, law or commerce (desirable)
- Similar degree and eligibility for professional membership of the Australian Society of Archivists (desirable)
