About your next role
As a Relief Manager, you are essential to maintaining the continuity of vital community services by leading store operations during management absences.
- Manage the day-to-day successful operation of remote stores in line with company policies and procedures
- Lead, coach, and train store teams and Duty Managers to achieve targets and support career progression
- Drive store sales and manage budget forecasts, focusing on cost control and Profit and Loss outcomes
- Coordinate with Merchandising, Nutrition, and Local Community Stakeholders to meet specific community needs
- Maintain high standards in stock inventory management, merchandising, and food safety in café/takeaway areas
Handle physical operational tasks including unloading grocery pallets, restocking shelves, and manual handling
Ensure accurate financial record-keeping for the store, including cash, safes, and ATMs- Mobilise at short notice to various remote locations to cover leave for Store or Duty Managers
What you will need to bring
- A minimum of three years' experience in customer-focused roles and people leadership
- Strong experience using electronic retail systems for point of sale, stock control, and staff management
- Highly effective interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt communication for diverse language and educational backgrounds
- A positive attitude and behaviours that align with ALPA's core values
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, mornings, and evenings as required by store trading
- Willingness to travel via small light planes and 4WD vehicles to remote communities
- Capacity to live in remote community settings, occasionally in shared ALPA accommodation
