Job Title: Rehabilitation Consultant
Location: Brisbane CBD | Hybrid
Work Type: Contract / Temp (Approx. 16 weeks / Early November start with potential extension)
Pay Rate: $61.59 – $68.14 per hour + Super
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Rehabilitation Consultant to join a collaborative team of health and rehabilitation professionals within a major local government organization.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering end-to-end rehabilitation case management services to employees who have sustained work-related injuries or illnesses, as well as those absent on sick leave. Operating within a self-insured environment, you will work closely with employees, treating medical professionals, and internal stakeholders to support safe, sustainable, and timely return-to-work outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
...- Deliver comprehensive rehabilitation case management support for both work-related injuries/illnesses and non-work-related sick leave.
- Manage end-to-end claim and injury management processes in alignment with relevant legislation.
- Collaborate closely with injured workers, operational leaders, external treating providers, and insurers.
- Maintain detailed case records, documentation, and workers' compensation database entries.
- Drive tailored return-to-work strategies and ensure compliance with relevant policies and statutory regulations.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
- Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in an Allied Health discipline (e.g., Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Rehabilitation Counselling, or Exercise Physiology).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in rehabilitation case management or injury management.
- Legislative Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of Queensland workers' compensation legislation with practical experience applying it in a self-insured or complex environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with Windows-based software and specialized injury/workers' compensation databases.
- Communication & Interpersonal: Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- Background Check: Ability to undergo and pass a standard Criminal History Check.
Work Schedule & Location
- Location: Brisbane CBD with hybrid working options available.
- Hours: Standard 9-day fortnight schedule (Week 1: 5 x 7.25 hours | Week 2: 4 x 7.25 hours).
