Randstad is partnering with a highly trusted, global engineering and defence leader operating across the marine, aviation, and land sectors.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Purchasing Officer for a 6-month contract (with potential for extension) to support the prestigious Collins Class Submarine Program. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in purchasing, project administration, or contract support who want end-to-end exposure to complex procurement cycles, risk mitigation, and value-for-money initiatives across major defence programs.
Your new role will involve:
- Prepare, negotiate, and submit Request for Quote (RFQ) packages.
- Assist in accurately tracking, measuring, and reporting on contractual obligations and supplier performance.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across purchasing and supply chain operations.
- Identify operational risks while driving cost-effective, high-quality procurement outcomes.
The successful candidate will have:
- Australian Citizenship with an active Baseline Security Clearance (Essential).
- Demonstrated experience in operational procurement / purchasing roles
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., IFS or similar) and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Membership with CIPS or ASCI is highly regarded.
- Strong analytical mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Current Australian Driver’s License.
