Our client is an expansive multi-metals processing and refining facility located in the Upper Spencer Gulf region of South Australia. Operating continuously for over 130 years, it is one of the world's largest lead smelters and acts as the economic backbone for the region.
About the Role
The Project Manager is responsible for the delivery of a range of civil, mechanical and electrical CAPEX and OPEX projects, including safety, quality and cost. The Project Manager will integrate engineering, procurement and construction management work streams. As well as overseeing project safety, environmental and HR issues and project controls.
Based out of our client’s Adelaide CBD office. This role is offered on a 5/2 (Mon to Fri) roster, with weekly travel to Pt Pirie. Site accommodation will be provided.
In this role you will:
- Conduct planning and execution of a range of civil, electrical and mechanical projects in a safe and timely manner
- Engaging and managing subcontractors to successfully deliver projects
- Managing and monitoring budgeting, timeline and scheduling of jobs
- Ensuring the quality management system is implemented and maintained
- Closure of projects including document sign off and invoicing
- Liaising between client, supplier and company to ensure a smooth workflow
- Ensuring incidents, non-conformance and quality issues are reported immediately
- Apply effective change management practices
- Recognition and resolution of conflict in the best interest of the company
- Team leadership and supporting a safe and positive workplace culture
- Identify and initiate innovation that reduce costs and increase efficiency
About you:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in similar mining, mechanical, electrical and/or SMP sectors
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering or project management would be highly regarded
- Excellent time management & multitasking skills with ability to run multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrate high-level communication and interpersonal skills
- Overriding commitment to safety
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Energetic with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Current drivers license
