We are partnering with a leading national professional services and accounting firm known for its integrity, collaboration, and high-performance culture. Operating across a widespread national network, they focus on delivering high-value advisory, tax, and audit solutions while maintaining a genuinely supportive, people-first internal environment.
They are currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join their expanding team based in the Sydney CBD. In this full-time, office-based role, you will take ownership of the end-to-end payroll cycle for over 2,000 employees across multiple sites nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Processing: Manage the full-function payroll cycle across multiple locations and entities.
Lifecycle Administration: Handle the complete employee lifecycle from onboarding adjustments to offboarding and complex Employment Termination Payments (ETPs).
Calculations: Accurately calculate salary increases, back pays, and various leave accruals.
Query Resolution: Act as the primary point of contact for internal payroll queries via Workday, email, and phone.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with the broader People & Culture and Finance teams to ensure seamless data flow.
Compliance & Reporting: Ensure strict adherence to Australian payroll legislation while assisting with standard reconciliations, payments, and reporting metrics.
What we are looking for
2–3 years of proven experience in a similar full-function payroll processing role.
Ability to confidently process multi-site payrolls independently.
Experience utilising ADP Payforce and/or Workday is highly desirable.
A solid, working understanding of current Australian payroll legislation and compliance standards.
High-level attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work cohesively within a team environment.
