In this dual-focused role, you will be responsible for operating the plasma / oxy-fuel profile cutting machine, shop floor programming, and providing essential support to the tradespeople and general workshop operations. Licensing: Valid Forklift license is mandatory.
Experience: Proven experience in materials handling and operating hand/power tools. (Prior profile cutting experience is highly regarded). Overhead gantry crane experience is essential. Dogging licence would be ideal!
Fitness & Ability: Physically fit with excellent hand-eye coordination, vision, and hearing to safely navigate a busy workshop environment.
Tech Savvy: Basic computer literacy for machine programming and tracking.
Safety First Mindset: A strong, proven commitment to safe work practices and adherence to Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Machine Operation: Shop floor programme and operate plasma/oxy-fuel profile cutting machines. Conduct day-to-day machine maintenance and report on consumable stock levels.
Quality & Tracking: Inspect cut components to ensure high quality, and accurately record job times and material traceability.
Materials Handling: Safely shift materials and equipment using forklifts and gantry cranes. Load/unload and verify material deliveries.
Trades Support & Assembly: Assist qualified tradespeople and operate workshop equipment (bandsaws, grinders, drills, small torch cutters).
General Workshop Duties: Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment; assist with yard work and transport preparation.
