Instructor in charge – Noarlunga Aquatic and Recreation Centre
The City of Onkaparinga operates the Noarlunga Aquatic and Recreation Centre (NARC), a leading community facility in southern Adelaide. Each year, we welcome around 300,000 visitors.
The centre includes a 25m lap and program pool, a family pool, a fully equipped gym, squash courts, multi-purpose sports courts and a busy kiosk. We support everything from everyday recreation to major regional events. We are a welcoming, inclusive and professional workplace. About the role
As instructor in charge, you lead the Learn to Swim program. You deliver lessons, mentor instructors and ensure safe, effective program delivery.
Key responsibilities
- teach swimming and water safety skills
- plan and adapt lessons for all abilities
- assess swimmer progress and provide feedback
- support and mentor instructors
- oversee daily program operations
- promote the Watch Around Water program
What you bring
- strong teaching skills and passion for water education
- experience leading or supervising a team
- ability to engage children and adults
Qualifications and requirements
You must hold:
- AUSTSWIM (or equivalent) Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety
- Provide First Aid and CPR
- Working with Children Check
- Child Safe Environments training
