As the scale and complexity of demands on the organisation have grown, our client is undergoing a critical maturity uplift to enhance their governance, asset lifecycle management, and financial oversight. We are looking for a specialist to help embed best-practice portfolio and project management disciplines and foster continuous learning across their infrastructure delivery teams.
What You Will Do:
Working within the Portfolio Management Office, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening organisational capability and improving ways of working. Your key responsibilities will include:
Supporting the design and implementation of project management frameworks, methodologies, templates, and guidance materials.
Identifying opportunities to improve delivery processes, governance arrangements, and project management practices.
Designing and delivering practical capability development initiatives, including training materials, workshops, communities of practice, and coaching resources.
Coordinating lessons learned activities and promoting continuous knowledge sharing across multidisciplinary teams.
Supporting portfolio assurance activities, such as health checks and maturity assessments, to ensure compliance and improve project quality.
Providing specialist advice to project managers to strengthen planning, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and benefits realisation.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will be a highly collaborative practitioner who enjoys working with diverse stakeholders to solve complex problems. You will also bring:
Significant experience in portfolio/program management or project delivery within an infrastructure, capital works, or asset-intensive environment.
Proven experience establishing or operating a capability uplift, improvement, or enablement function.
Strong knowledge of contemporary project and portfolio methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, PRINCE2, MSP, P3M3).
Demonstrated capability in designing and delivering training and coaching programs, with the confidence to facilitate workshops.
A strong ability to analyse delivery challenges, evaluate information, identify trends, and develop fit-for-purpose recommendations.
The ability to lead change, influence senior stakeholders, and embed new ways of working without formal authority.
