Randstad is partnering with Australia’s leading aviation cargo provider to secure reliable and safety-driven Freight Handlers to join the team on a roster basis at their fast-paced airport logistics hub.
As a key member of the airside logistics team, you will ensure incoming and outgoing cargo moves efficiently between warehouse facilities and aircraft. This active, fast-moving position is suited to individuals who thrive in a practical environment and are looking to build a career in aviation logistics.
Key ResponsibilitiesCargo Operations: Safely load, unload, and sort general air freight, parcel mail, and priority packages between airport facilities and aircraft.
Pallet & ULD Assembly: Build, break down, and secure Unit Load Devices (ULDs) and flight pallets in accordance with weight distribution and aviation safety standards.
Equipment Operation: Safely operate airside transport vehicles, tugs, and forklifts to transport freight across tarmac zones.
Data Tracking: Accurately register, track, and log cargo movements using handheld RF scanners.
Safety & Compliance: Maintain high safety standards by adhering to hazardous material handling, chain of responsibility, and airport security protocols.
Licences: Valid Australian Driver’s Licence. Holding a High-Risk Forklift Licence (LF) is highly advantageous.
Essential Capabilities: Ability to perform continuous manual handling duties, including lifting items up to 20–25kg throughout active shifts.
Roster Flexibility: Full availability to work across a 24/7 rotating roster, including mornings, afternoons, night shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Aviation Clearances: Eligibility to meet background check criteria required to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC), including a 10-year history verification and national police check.
Pre-Employment Screening: Willingness to undergo standard pre-employment medical checks, including drug and alcohol screening.
Competitive Pay: Base rate of $34.96 per hour, plus applicable shift penalties, weekend rates, and overtime opportunities.
