We are partnering with a highly respected and well-established national business specializing in industrial engineering and fluid handling solutions. Known for their technical expertise and reliable service, they have built a strong footprint across Australia. Due to internal movement, they are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Finance Officer to join their tight-knit team.
About the Role
This position is offered as an immediate-start temporary assignment with the intention of transitioning the successful candidate into a permanent role. You will be the cornerstone of the day-to-day financial operations, taking full ownership of three core functions: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable: End-to-end processing of supplier invoices, matching purchase orders, reconciling supplier statements, resolving discrepancies, and preparing weekly/monthly payment runs.
- Accounts Receivable: Generating and issuing client invoices, receipting and allocating daily payments, performing account reconciliations, and managing courteous but effective debt collection.
- Payroll: Accurate processing of the payroll for permanent and casual staff, managing leave entitlements, superannuation calculations, payroll tax reporting, and ensuring compliance with relevant awards and legislation.
- General Finance: Assisting with month-end reporting, bank reconciliations, and general administrative duties to support the wider management team.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a proactive self-starter who thrives in a varied, all-rounder finance position. You will also bring:
- Proven, recent experience in a similar role encompassing AP, AR, and Payroll.
- Strong proficiency with medium-to-large ERP or accounting software.
- A meticulous approach to data entry with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with suppliers, clients, and internal staff.
- The availability to commence immediately (or at short notice) and the desire to secure long-term, permanent employment.
