Senior Electrical Engineer
The Opportunity Our Client, a major state owned energy provider in Western Australia is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to act as the primary site technical authority across gas turbines and distributed power assets. As WA transitions toward an intelligent energy future, you will lead complex engineering investigations, optimize high voltage and instrumentation systems, and drive critical outage delivery.
The Role
Act as single point of accountability for all HV, LV, and C&I engineering decisions on site.
Conduct root cause failure analyses (RCA) and implement permanent, cost effective solutions.
Scope, review, and approve electrical maintenance frameworks and Asset Management Plans.
Lead electrical engineering support during plant outages, managing OEM contractors and technical execution.
Maintain statutory electrical safety compliance and oversee Generator Performance Standards (GPS).
The Tech Stack & Environment
High voltage and low voltage power generation equipment (static and rotating).
Control & Instrumentation: DCS, SCADA, protection systems, and turbine controls.
Power systems analysis using DigSILENT PowerFactory.
Process Safety and Asset Management (PSAM) frameworks for critical thermal assets.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) with minimum 5 years experience in power generation or heavy industrial energy environments.
Comprehensive technical knowledge across HV/LV switchgear, protection relays, and C&I systems.
Demonstrated background in plant failure investigations, outage supervision, and contractor management.
Solid understanding of statutory electrical requirements, risk management, and network standards.
