Position Overview We are seeking an experienced EL1 Project Support Officer to join the INV 5 project within the Defence Integrated Investment Program. This project is critical to delivering the physical and digital infrastructure that enables Defence’s Innovation, Science and Technology (IS&T) system to address some of the most challenging problems facing the sector.
In this role, you will progress the project schedule, liaise closely with sponsors and delivery group stream leads, and provide high-level advice to senior leaders. You will play a key role in developing strategic briefs, capability plans, and essential artefacts for Defence committees, while actively engaging with the broader IS&T Enterprise and Ecosystem to undertake crucial assurance and reporting activities.
Contract Details: This is an initial 12-month contract, with an option to extend at the discretion of the Commonwealth. Please note that occasional travel may be required.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary tasks will include:
Project Coordination: Coordinate weekly integrated project team meetings to ensure alignment and momentum.
Strategic Writing & Artefact Development: Draft critical project documentation, including the business case, project execution plan, integrated project management plan, risk management plan, security plan, and workforce plan.
Schedule Management: Oversee the project schedule and drive related stakeholder engagement activities.
Risk & Issue Management: Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues, communicating effectively with relevant stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Engagement: Work across Delivery Areas to coordinate the planning of both the facilities and digital aspects of the INV 5 project.
Governance Integration: Work directly with the Program Management Office, Program Steering Group, and Program Governance Board to obtain strategic guidance and manage the escalation and remediation of risks and issues.
Capability Management: Fulfill broader capability management responsibilities across the Defence capability system.
