Are you a high-performing leader with expertise in quality assurance, policy interpretation, and data analysis who wants to make an impact on a national scale?
I am currently partnering with a prominent federal government agency in the disability sector for this exciting opportunity. This is a critical role within the National Early Childhood Branch responsible for providing leadership, technical expertise, and quality assurance oversight to ensure early support for young children with developmental delays or disabilities.
About the Opportunity
As the EL1 Assistant Director - Quality, you will operate under broad direction to lead complex work with strategic and operational significance. Operating with considerable independence, you will manage team performance, oversee quality assurance and control activities for early childhood planning, and apply best-practice coaching to enhance delegate capability. You will also drive business improvement initiatives, maintain data collection systems, and interpret key trends to manage risk and plan sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical & Policy Advice: Provide high-level technical and policy advice and operational support on quality assurance and control activities relating to early childhood planning and decision-making.
- Team Leadership & Capability: Lead, manage, and mentor team members, setting priorities, managing workflows, and applying best-practice coaching models to build delegate capability.
- Data Analysis & Quality Reporting: Support national quality reporting by maintaining data collection systems and analysing performance data, trend analysis, business impact, and risk.
- Stakeholder & Change Management: Actively manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships, represent the branch, and lead business improvement initiatives with effective change management strategies.
Ideally you will Possess:
- Strong ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance and effective decision-making.
- Proven ability to lead and manage teams, set priorities, and manage workflows to achieve objectives efficiently, including direct leadership of reports.
- Expertise in providing detailed technical, professional, policy, and operational support and advice on complex issues.
- Proficiency in Excel and strong data analysis skills to interpret and manage data effectively for informed decision-making.
- Experience or qualifications in the early childhood, disability, or allied health sectors would be highly desirable.
