About the Role
Joining the Technology and Security division within the Office of Information Management, the successful candidate will provide comprehensive operational support to enhance the organisation’s defensive capabilities. This role sits at the front line of the department's digital defence, focusing heavily on Security Operations Centre (SOC) functions, real-time threat detection, and proactive security assessments.

Vulnerability Management: Conduct routine vulnerability assessments, security reviews, and audits to identify control weaknesses and reduce organisational cyber risk.
Security Architecture Assessments: Evaluate the effectiveness of security controls across internal systems and cloud applications, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and standards.
Documentation & Reporting: Prepare high-quality technical documentation, compliance reports, and mitigation recommendations to support continuous improvement and risk management initiatives.

Demonstrated experience in a Security Operations Centre (SOC) environment handling incident detection and response workflows.
Hands-on experience utilising industry-standard SIEM platforms (ideally Microsoft Sentinel) and vulnerability management tools (such as Tenable One).
A solid understanding of network security concepts, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, web proxies, and endpoint security solutions.
Familiarity with cloud security principles, specifically within Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
