About the Role
Are you an experienced Workers Compensation Claims Officer looking for your next challenge in Hobart? On behalf of our client we are seeking a high performing claims professional to join their team.
In this dynamic role, you will take full ownership of a portfolio of complex workers compensation claims, delivering end-to-end management with a focus on early intervention, proactive injury management and sustainable return-to-work outcomes.
This role is offered as an initial contract with strong potential for permanent conversion for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
...- End-to-end management of complex statutory workers compensation claims in accordance with Tasmanian legislation.
- Develop, implement and monitor proactive return-to-work and rehabilitation plans in collaboration with injured workers, employers, medical practitioners and insurers.
- Conduct initial liability assessments, gather evidence and make timely, fair and legally compliant decisions.
- Drive dispute resolution processes, working constructively to achieve fair outcomes and mitigate legal or financial risks.
- Provide expert guidance and support to internal stakeholders and client organisations regarding injury management best practices.
- Maintain clear, precise and compliant documentation across all database systems.
What You Bring
- Proven Experience: Demonstrable experience managing statutory workers compensation claims within Australia (familiarity with Tasmanian Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation legislation is highly regarded).
- Technical Expertise: Sound knowledge of injury management, medical terminology and return-to-work principles.
- Strong Communication: Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation and written communication skills with a track record of handling sensitive situations with empathy and objectivity.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical skills to evaluate complex medical and legal information efficiently.
- Adaptability: Ability to hit the ground running, manage competing priorities and drive positive outcomes from day one.
