One of our highly reputable Federal Government clients is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join their team as an EL1 Assistant Director, People & Culture. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting our organisation's strategic objectives by providing expert advice and guidance on all aspects of human resources management and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of HR strategies, policies, and programs to support the organisation's objectives and priorities.
- Provide expert advice and support to managers and employees on HR matters, including recruitment, performance management, employee relations, and workforce planning.
- Oversee the recruitment and selection process, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
- Manage employee relations issues, including grievances, disputes, and disciplinary actions, in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with senior management to identify opportunities for improving employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
- Lead and mentor a team of HR professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Monitor and analyse HR metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement and inform decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and government policies related to HR management.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in a senior HR role, preferably within a government or large organisational setting.
- Sound knowledge of HR principles, practices, and legislation, including the Public Service Act and relevant employment laws.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent leadership and management abilities, with a proven track record of leading teams and achieving results.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage competing priorities.
