Your New Company/Role:
As a well established organisation, my client is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join their team for a 3 months temporary (subject to extension/permanency). The role is to be based in their Glebe NSW 2037 office. Street parking is available but at own cost alongside 3-4 days work from home flexibility.
This role is to play a critical role in supporting the efficient operation of the AP function. You will be processing high volumes of invoices and claims, maintaining creditor accounts, and delivering excellent service to internal and external stakeholders. You'll be confident using Excel, comfortable working across both system-based and manual processes, and ready to bring a proactive, can-do approach to the team.
About the Opportunity / Responsibilities:
Reporting to a nurturing AP Team Leader; you are responsible for
- Accurately processing of a large volume of invoices and claims, verifying that all necessary approvals, documentation, and purchasing guidelines are satisfied
- Apply understanding of accounting principles, chart of accounts structures and financial processes to support quality outcomes
- Promote strict compliance with organisational policies, while actively identifying opportunities to refine procedures and elevate financial best practices.
- Utilising strong Excel skills, including XLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables - to assist with reporting and reconciliation tasks
- Other ad hoc duties as and when required
Ideal Profile
This opportunity is for someone who has experience within the accounts payable domain. You will also bring:
- Diploma or Bachelors in Accounting & Finance/equivalent qualification or relevant work experience
- Previous experience in a similar accounts payable role is essential with strong track record managing high volume invoice processing and ability to deal with other stakeholders
- Prior experience in large ERP systems would be highly desirable or exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365 is highly advantageous but not essential
- Intermediate Excel skill - XLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
