- Conduct and manage property valuations and negotiations, including complex matters, to enable timely access to properties required for Transport works.
- Undertake acquisition activities in accordance with policy, guidelines and legislative requirements, preparing submissions for approval to maintain probity throughout the process.
- Liaise with team members, surveyors and other property staff to ensure plans and agreements reflect conditions of purchase and any associated works or adjustments.
- Provide accurate and practical advice on valuations and property acquisition to support information flow across the branch, division and wider organisation.
Key Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications as a real estate valuer, recognised by the Australian Property Institute.
- Current practicing membership of any of the following professional bodies: The Australian Valuers Institute (other than an associate or student membership), The Australian Property Institute (other than a student or provisional membership), acquired in relation to occupation as a valuer, or The Royal Institution ofChartered Surveyors as a Chartered Valuer.
- Broad experience in real estate valuation and a demonstrated knowledge of valuations for land acquisition purposes.
- Demonstrated understanding of and experience in administering legislative and regulatory procedures pertaining to road corridor land, including the provisions of the Roads Act 1993, Transport Administration Act 1988, Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act 1991, Native Title Act 1993, Local Government Act 1993, Crown Lands Act 1989, Conveyancing Act 1919, and Real Property Act 1900.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the compulsory acquisition of land for government infrastructure and statutory purposes.
- Proven ability to ensure effective and empathetic communications with internal and external parties concerning highly complex and politically sensitive issues.
This role will be based in the office at least x3 days per week. Office locations are Parramatta, Macquarie Park and Sydney CBD.
