Are you an experienced administrative professional with high attention to detail and strong digital file management skills? We are seeking a proactive Tribunal Officer to join a prominent Queensland public sector regulator on an initial 6 month contract based in Brisbane CBD.
In this frontline administrative capacity, you will provide comprehensive secretariat and operational support for independent tribunal hearings. You will be the primary point of contact for workers, legal and insurer representatives, and specialist medical panel members on hearing days. Key responsibilities include end to end digital file management using PDF bookmarking, audio transcription, scheduling virtual and in person hearings, updating electronic case management systems, and processing tribunal financial documents.
Position Duties
...Scheduling and confirming tribunal appointments and hearings with key stakeholders in a timely manner.
Managing the reception area with courtesy and professionalism, delivering a supportive experience to all visitors, tribunal members, and attendees.
Preparing and maintaining electronic files, including converting referral materials into PDF format with bookmarking systems.
Accurately entering and managing case records within electronic case management systems.
Typing, preparing, and presenting official tribunal findings and distributing them promptly to relevant parties.
Coordinating and facilitating virtual hearings, including setting up online meetings, testing technical connectivity, and supporting tribunal members with digital tools.
Assisting with operational logistics, such as travel bookings, regional tribunal arrangements, chaperoning, and processing financial invoices.
What You'll Bring
Extensive administrative, secretariat, or case management support experience within a legal, statutory, medical, or government environment.
Fast, accurate audio typing capabilities and intermediate to advanced word processing skills.
Proficiency in digital file handling, PDF bookmarking, and electronic recordkeeping platforms.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on delivering respectful, empathetic service to individuals in complex or stressful situations.
Proven ability to prioritise tasks, maintain high accuracy under strict deadlines, and manage vicarious trauma context with personal resilience.
