A fantastic opportunity has opened up to join a leading, industry-aligned financial services and superannuation organisation headquartered in Melbourne. In this role, you will lead the definition and execution of high-impact technical initiatives across an ambitious 12-month delivery roadmap. You will be instrumental in bridging the gap between investment data, systems, and enterprise technology, steering concurrent projects and cyclical releases across cloud, reporting, and modern platforms. If you are a problem-solver who thrives in a collaborative, fast-evolving landscape and wants to drive meaningful change across key business systems, this is the role for you.
Industry Experience: Proven track record delivering complex end-to-end technology projects within financial services, superannuation, wealth management, or fund custody environments.
Technical Acumen: Strong familiarity with multi-faceted technical landscapes, including cloud platforms (AWS/Python, Microsoft Azure), and modern data/reporting platforms like PowerBI.
Investment Knowledge: Solid exposure to investment instruments (e.g., Fixed Interest, Equities, Derivatives, Debt/Loans) and data management processes. Experience with platforms like Blackrock Aladdin, Bloomberg AIM, Charles River, or FactSet is highly regarded.
Methodologies & Tooling: Hands-on expertise with common methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Prince2, PMBOK) and deep fluency across the Atlassian stack (Jira, JQL, Confluence).
Delivery & Governance: Demonstrated capability running stage gating, change delivery cycles, UAT quality standards, and budget management for mid-to-large organisations.
Soft Skills & Leadership: Strong stakeholder management, proactive risk resolution, vendor oversight, and clear communication across cross-functional internal and external teams.
Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Computing, Business, Finance, or a related discipline, alongside recognized Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, Prince2 Practitioner, or Agile certification).
Internal Leadership: Delivery Leads, Executives, and General Managers.
Core Business Teams: Investment Data and Systems (IDS) teams, Investment Execution stakeholders, and internal change/technical specialists.
External Stakeholders: Third-party vendors, specialized market data suppliers, and external delivery consultants.
Project Delivery & Scoping: Organise and deliver project scopes into well-defined work streams, leading the creation of project plans, schedules, and deliverables to achieve key objectives.
Change & Release Cadence: Manage multiple concurrent initiatives under a 12-month delivery roadmap, alongside hands-on execution of regular six-weekly change delivery cycles (including planned weekend release activities).
Project Governance & Stage Gating: Establish and maintain governance structures, robust stage gating, ticket hygiene, and transparent status reporting to align scope, commitments, and issue remediation.
Stakeholder & Change Management: Collaborate with Change Partners to form tailored change management and communication strategies across diverse business units.
Financial & Quality Management: Manage and monitor project budgets, allocate resources effectively, and enforce strict UAT entry and exit criteria to meet high quality standards.
Team Leadership & Vendor Oversight: Guide project teams through stand-ups, day-to-day planning, and coaching, while managing relationships with external vendors, software partners, and consultants.
