About the Role
We are seeking an energetic Technical Officer to join the core Technical Officer Pool. In this dynamic role, you will carry out timely chemical, physical, and microbiological analytical testing across a high-throughput, purpose-built laboratory environment. You will gain hands-on experience across both chemistry and biosciences disciplines, directly contributing to the quality and safety of water and environmental management across the region.

- Carry out a specified range of complex tests to verify that specifications are met and to reject nonconforming material or articles.
- Follow the organisation's HS&E policies, procedures and mandatory instructions; to identify and mitigate risks, and to safeguard the environment and the well being of oneself and others.
- Produce accurate reports for others by collecting data from a variety of standard sources and inputting it into standard formats.
- Review non-compliance issues and find solutions to ad-hoc problems within an assigned unit or discipline.
- Involves working under guidance and within existing compliance systems.
- Conduct complex analyses, quality tests and inspections that require a high level of independent judgement.
- Use data management systems to access specific information as and when required.
- Contribute to reviewing existing operations in own area of work and generate new ideas to assist in identifying continuous improvements.
- Produce, update and provide best practice support on a wide range of MS documents, databases and other departmental systems to support the work of more senior colleagues.
What You Bring
Diploma in Science, Laboratory Skills, or equivalent practical industry experience.
Demonstrated hands-on experience conducting testing within a busy wet laboratory environment.
Solid understanding of, and experience working within, NATA accreditation guidelines and ISO/quality management systems.
