We are currently partnering with leading local councils and public sector authorities across Melbourne to recruit motivated maintenance personnel. We have multiple casual vacancies available across two distinct streams: Sports Turf Maintenance and Open Space Maintenance.

Sports Turf Maintenance Officer
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, presenting, and maintaining premier sporting ovals, athletics tracks, and specialized playing fields.
Key Duties:
Operating specialized turf machinery, including cylinder/gang mowers, aerators, and scarifiers.
Performing wicket/pitch preparation, seasonal turf renovations, and precision line marking.
Monitoring and basic programming of automated sportsground irrigation systems.
Assisting with top-dressing, fertilising, weed eradication, and pest management.
Open Space Maintenance Officer
In this role, you will work within mobile depot crews to maintain the presentation, safety, and cleanliness of public reserves, streetscapes, and community parklands.
Key Duties:
Operating commercial wide-area ride-on mowers, front-deck mowers, and tractor slashers.
General grounds upkeep, including brushcutting, whipper snipping, edging, and debris clearing.
Chemical application for broadleaf weed and pest control across municipal reserves.
Routine amenity maintenance, minor timber/fence repairs, and playground inspections.
What You Bring
Essential:
Construction Induction Card (White Card).
Valid Australian Driver Licence (Medium Rigid license highly regarded).
Demonstrated hands-on experience in grounds maintenance, commercial mowing, or turf care.
Commitment to zero-harm OH&S practices and depot safety standards.
Physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Desirable / Advantageous:
Certificate III in Sports Turf Management, Horticulture, or Parks & Gardens.
Agricultural Chemical User Permit (ACUP).
Valid Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC).
