Site Manager | Commercial Fitout and Refurbishment- North / North West Tasmania
About the Role We are seeking an experienced and safety focused Site Manager to lead day to day site operations across commercial fitout and refurbishment projects valued between 700k and 5M+.
In this role, you will be responsible for effective on site management, subcontractor coordination, high quality trade execution, and upholding our firm commitment to perfect safety. You will work closely with Project Managers to coordinate programming, manage client and consultant relationships, and ensure defect free project handover.
To be successful, you will have heavy refurb and new build experience alongside live environment experience, as some projects may remain open 24/7 during construction.
You will also require experience with major structural packages: piling and foundations, suspended slabs, precast panels, structural steel and facade installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate all daily on site construction activities to ensure progress aligns with project programmes....
Champion EHSQ principles by conducting daily inductions, assessing subcontractor Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), and executing regular risk checks.
Manage subcontractor relationships, supervise trade quality, and chair regular site progress and safety meetings.
Prepare short and long term site construction schedules in collaboration with the Project Manager.
Utilise project delivery systems including Procore and maintain precise daily site diaries.
Lead, mentor, and coach Site Coordinators to foster professional growth and set operational performance standards.
Maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, and building managers through regular site meetings and proactive communication.
What We Are Looking For
- At least 5 years of commercial construction experience, including a minimum of 2 years in site management within commercial fitout.
- Demonstrated experience running commercial fitout projects from 700k to 5M+.
- Strong practical understanding of trade principles,construction drawings, and specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, MS Project) and hands on experience using Procore.
- Current Construction Industry White Card and Senior First Aid Certificate.
- A building related trade or tertiary qualification is preferred.
- experienced in site safety leadership, subcontractor management, and defect minimisation.
