Duties:
Strip down, service, and rebuild heavy locomotive components and mechanical assemblies efficiently.
Clean, overhaul, and test mechanical parts to ensure optimal operational performance on the bench.
Read and follow mechanical diagrams, service manuals, and workshop job sheets accurately.
Operate hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery to complete heavy overhaul tasks safely.
Maintain strict workshop safety protocols, standard procedures, and keep a clean workspace.
Skills & Experience:
Mechanical Trade Certificate preferred, or solid hands-on Mechanical Trades Assistant experience.
Proven practical experience in mechanical assembly, component strip-down, and heavy overhaul work.
Strong mechanical aptitude; candidates with vehicle maintenance hobbies are highly regarded.
A reliable, practical, and safety-first attitude on the workshop floor.
Ability to pass standard pre-employment checks and background screening tests.
