Randstad is currently working with a State Govt Dept who are seeking an experienced Senior Project Officer to join their team on an upcoming project for an initial period of 6 months with potential for further extensions.

Are you a Project Officer with extensive experience working with stakeholders across multiple agencies, with a multi-disciplinary team to develop strategy and build a greenflield implementation program from the ground up?
As a senior team member, you will be key to ensuring an innovative and future resilient option is selected for the future of this critical public safety service. This phase of the project requires that solution options are analysed by the technical, financial and project implementation specialists, and a robust and accurate business case developed to inform government decisions for the next phase.
The ideal candidate for this role will be a highly collaborative Project Officer able to work with multiple technical and non-technical stakeholders, develop accurate and timely work and support senior executives and governance forums with sound reporting and project controls management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing high level project support to the Project Manager and Project Team Leads, by:
- actively participating in project and resource planning activities
- contributing and assisting in developing project management product documentation
- contributing and assisting in preparing reports on project status information
- actively participating in risk and issue assessment and mitigation activities ensuring risks and issues are documented, reviewed, and escalated as appropriate.
- contributing and assisting in preparing project correspondence, presentations, and briefings
- performing secretarial support functions for governance boards including minute taking
- performing administration functions for the Project Managers including diary and meeting management.
- Act as the central point for monitoring and reporting to senior staff on HRIS project components including schedules, interdependencies, business case development, benefits management, assurance, and communication activities.
- Initiate, influence, and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders including government agencies to coordinate project meetings, briefings, expectation management and feedback mechanisms.
To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrate previous experience and expertise in a similar role.
- Plan and manage activities to successfully achieve on-time delivery of program and project outcomes.
- Identify, develop, and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, including relationships with other agencies and industry.
- Demonstrate and apply your knowledge of project management methods (such as PRINCE2).
- Work collaboratively within a project team, particularly with cross-agency stakeholders and subject matter experts.
- Demonstrate your ability to communicate project requirements and outcomes, both in writing and orally.
