The Opportunity
show moreOur client has recently secured a landmark $30M Datacentre infrastructure project in Melbourne’s inner west and are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to manage comprehensive civils package.
This role would suit a Tier 1/2 Senior Project Engineer looking for a clear, unobstructed runway to PM, or an established Tier 3 Project Manager who thrives on being close to the action and executing self-delivery works.
You will step into an autonomous position, taking the operational reins of the project to drive delivery, manage a mix of self-perform crews and subcontractors, and work shoulder-to-shoulder with an established local leadership team.
The Scope of Works
You will own the day-to-day delivery of the entire civils and infrastructure package, including:
Bulk Earthworks & Drainage: Managing heavy-loading site prep, retention systems, and critical stormwater infrastructure.
Deep Foundations: Coordinating complex piling operations tailored for high-spec datacentre structures.
External Works: Delivering final-phase carparks, heavy-duty pavements, and high-security fencing interfaces.
Your Role & Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Project Manager and national Head of Construction, you will cover the following:
Site Operations: Drive daily site execution, tracking progress against strict datacentre delivery milestones.
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor self-delivery teams, foster a high-performance culture, and ensure uncompromising safety standards.
Subcontractor Management: Coordinate and hold accountable specialised subies across piling, civil, and utilities disciplines.
Commercial & Delivery Strategy: Work alongside the PM to manage variations, claims, and procurement while spotting delivery efficiencies early.
Team Growth: Actively support the expansion of the local project team as the division scales, including onboarding an incoming Project Engineer and wider operational staff.
