Maximum Pay Rate: $103.19 an hour + super (maximum annual equivalent $194,513 a year + super)
Role Overview:
Are you looking to shape trusted, well-managed, and responsibly used data while driving practical governance and privacy initiatives? This delivery-focused role will see you leading hands-on data and open data governance work, conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), and translating policy obligations into clear, usable practices. Working closely with key stakeholders, you will develop practical governance artefacts that build confidence, support compliance, and uplift organisational capability.
What You Will Do:
Lead the development of data and open data governance frameworks, policies, procedures, and accountability models aligned with Queensland Government standards.
Conduct comprehensive Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), identifying risks and treatment actions for assets containing sensitive and personally identifiable information (PII).
Deliver governance artefacts in line with key directives and legislation, including QGEA, the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld), IS18, and IS33.
Partner with information owners, system owners, and subject matter experts to gather requirements, understand business contexts, and translate them into usable outputs.
Enable capability maturity uplift by creating executive materials, practical guidance content, and handover documentation to support ongoing compliance.
What You Need to Apply for This Role:
Proven experience developing data and open data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and supporting knowledge materials.
Strong background in conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and developing privacy risk treatment documentation.
Deep knowledge of information and data governance, records, data management, risk, and assurance principles.
Demonstrated experience working within the Queensland Government or broader public sector environment.
Strong stakeholder engagement and writing skills, with the ability to create executive briefs, decision papers, and clear guidance for senior leaders.
