We are partnering with a major government infrastructure authority to secure a Senior Civil Designer for a highly sought-after, long-term contract running until October 2029. Based in the North Coast Region, you will report to the Principal Advisor (Design) and play a pivotal role in shaping large-scale transport infrastructure projects from strategic planning through to implementation.
About the Role
In this autonomous but highly collaborative role, you will lead key components of the planning and design function to ensure transport infrastructure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality.
Your core responsibilities will include:
Developing and quantifying transport infrastructure design models across all project phases (concept, development, and implementation).
Utilizing AutoCAD and 12D software to conceptualize, investigate, and analyze optimal design options.
Ensuring all designs adhere to strict policies, legislative frameworks, quality management procedures, and key governance standards.
Assisting in the technical review of design drawings and documentation provided by external consultancies.
Providing expert technical advice on corridor planning, program development, and project finalization.
Building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to navigate challenges and manage expectations.

You are a decisive and resilient civil design professional who thrives when taking accountability for your work. You know exactly when to work autonomously and when to escalate risks, and you enjoy mentoring and contributing to the capability development of your wider design team.
Mandatory Requirements:
A minimum two-year, Dublin Accord accredited engineering degree (such as an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering) or recognized equivalent.
A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience using 12D and AutoCAD software.
A current White Card.
