Randstad Qualified Finance are excited to partner with a leading manufacturing business.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, analytical Senior Accountant to join their established finance function. This role offers an exceptional blend of corporate financial reporting, product costing, tax compliance, and capital asset management, making it an ideal step for an accountant looking to broaden their commercial and operational expertise within a global production environment.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will take ownership of daily financial management across the Australian operations, ensuring strict accuracy across both corporate and statutory books.
Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger & Month-End: Execute monthly/quarterly closing procedures, prepare ledger reconciliations, and coordinate external audit requirements.
Product Costing & Inventory: Maintain product standard costs within ERP systems, perform manufacturing variance analysis, oversee inventory accounting, and partner with commercial teams on new product quotations.
Taxation & Statutory Obligations: Manage the end-to-end preparation and lodgement of BAS, FBT, GST, CGT, and payroll tax. Prepare annual corporate tax schedules and liaise with external advisors to ensure statutory deadlines are met.
Fixed Assets (FA) & Capital Spending: Oversee the fixed asset lifecycle—including depreciation, additions, Capital Work in Progress (CIP) transfers, and disposals—while preparing Capital Appropriation Request (CAR) analyses.
Operational Oversight: Provide operational support for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable workflows, review customer credit data, and track aged receivables.
FP&A & Budgeting: Track departmental expense variances, prepare monthly internal reporting packages, and assist leadership during the annual budgeting process.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Education & Qualifications: CA or CPA qualification (or actively working towards completion).
Experience: 4+ years of progressive accounting experience. Background in manufacturing, industrial, or production environments highly regarded.
Technical Knowledge: Deep working knowledge of Australian taxation, statutory compliance, and cost accounting principles.
Systems Expertise: Proven experience with enterprise ERP software—SAP proficiency is a significant advantage. Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities are essential.
Soft Skills: Meticulous attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the leadership potential to take on decision-making responsibilities as you grow within the business.
